Cartografías, íntimas expresiones de sensibilidad frente al mundo circundante; un recorrido por viajes, mapas, geometrías y vistas aéreas guiado por la memoria misma de la artista. Con formas diversas, orgánicas, de líneas y multiplicidad de colores, el hilo de los recuerdos personales se transforma en abstractas interpretaciones cartográficas que rompen con la rigidez de lo conocido. Un viaje realizado a través de los sentidos y el detalle, que permite diversas rutas reales e imaginarias, exploraciones de otros mundos, movimientos, conflictos y cuestionamientos.

Giannina Brusatin:

Giannina Brusatin: Nacida en Cali (Colombia), esta joven artista graduada de Pratt Institute de Brooklyn (Nueva York, Estados Unidos) en 2004, ha participado en múltiples exposiciones en salas de Nueva York y Florida, donde algunas de las más destacadas son “Distance, Destination and Destiny”, South Pointe Art Project, Miami Beach (Estados Unidos, 2005) y “Art and the City”, Art Center/South Florida, Miami Beach (Estados Unidos, 2005). Habiendo realizado su residencia en el Art Center/South Florida de Miami Beach (2004-2005), donde obtuvo la aprobación del jurado, es actualmente candidata a la Maestría en NYU Steinhardt School, Nueva York (Estados Unidos).

Geometry becomes a distortion and abstraction of the world that surrounds me, and painting is my reaction to that world. Memory guides me. Shapes remind me of places, of aerial views, geometries that surround me and have control over me. That control must be broken by allowing the hand to distort and break its rigidity. I use my own means of traveling through the surface. Different routes, different angles lead to new places. This travel is accomplished through the senses; my tools are shape,lines and color. These provide a spectrum of directions, some actual, some imagined. These paintings raise questions through the description of multiple routes. Questions without specific answers, places arrived at when no destination is planned. Navigating the routes involve strategies of motion and conflict. There is always wonderment in new land being discovered. Endless coordinates, endless routes.

Instructor Led Classroom Training RecStay classes are more then just dynamic, engaging and incorporate practical examples demonstrating how the techniques the trainee is learning can be implemented into their work immediately. Course material covers the range from beginner to advanced. Class length is 6-7 hours, depending on the subject and level. At the end of the day the trainee has been introduced to a good number of concepts and tools and has had the opportunity to practice them during the class. The instructor for all classes, has experience as a trainer. He has trained in a wide variety of settings, from high-tech training rooms to the factory floor. He has rolled out software to large companies, projects spanning several years, as well as smaller firms and shorter engagements. His training style is such that he engages the trainee right from the beginning and keeps the pace lively during the entire class. He takes "what if" questions as they come and goes "off book" if the need arises, modifying the material to fit the classes' needs. Along with group classes, one on one training is available.
