The year 2012 arrives with good news for the world sport: the launch of The World Games 2013 Cali which will be carried out on January 25th. The event will be held at Evangelista Mora Gymnasium at 7:30PM. 20 Olympic Committees from different countries, 45 Sports Federations with its clubs, 5 reduced mobility leagues and young athletes will be participating.
The program that will be broadcasted to 29 countries will be deck out with the attendance of the President of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos, Director of Coldeportes, the Mayor of Cali Rodrigo Guerrero, Valle del Cauca Governor Hector Fabio Useche, Cali Local Organizing Committee (CLOC), top executives from the sports world such as the IWGA (International World Games Association), and leading figures from the National and local Government.
“Cali is the best, The Games are the best and hosting them is the best way to strengthen the self-esteem of the city. Organizing them and carry them out in an exemplary manner is another way to realize that we are capable of doing great things” expressed Rodrigo Guerrero Velasco, Mayor of Santiago de Cali.
The ceremony will be animated by different artists from the TV Channel RCN, concerts and Colombian talented children as well as a series of events that will alternate the night.
Gates and billboards distributed along the streets will liven up the city surrounding The World Games.
This way the road to The World Games 2013 Cali will firmly begin and this 9th edition will be hosted by the Sports Capital of America.
